I back up my blogs regularly using a plugin WP DB Backup. I will always restore my website if anything happens. I use my blog to be scanned by WP Security Scan plugin and suspicious-looking requests to be blocked by WordPress Firewall to fix malware problems free.
Don't depend on your Web host - Many men and women rely on their web host to"do all that technical stuff for me", not realizing that sometimesthey do not! Far better to have the responsibility lie with you, instead of from your control.
